Samuel Neschis began his legal career as an Assistant New York District Attorney.  In the New York County District Attorney’s Office, Sam brought nearly 100 criminal cases to the New York Grand Jury and was lead trial lawyer for numerous jury trials.  Beyond his trial activities, Sam accepted lead responsibility for long term narcotics investigations.

When Sam relocated to Chicago, he brought his trial experience to civil and commercial litigation in the Cook County Court system.  As lead trial attorney at Horowitz and Weinstein, Sam handles cases in both federal and state courts.

Sam represents a diverse group of clients including individuals, corporations, and family owned and other closely held businesses.    Sam’s practice is primarily in the areas of shareholder litigation, protection of minority shareholders interests, contract disputes, real estate litigation, and probate litigation.  In addition, Sam represents clients in cases involving disputed title of art, fraudulent art purchases, and other types of art law litigation.

Sam is a certified mediator and serves as volunteer mediator for the Center for Conflict Resolution. He is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.

Sam received his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law in 1999, where he was honored with the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Student Award and the Fordham University School of Law Public Service Student Award.  He received his B.A. in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated with distinction.

He is licensed in state and federal courts in both Illinois and New York and is a member of the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
